The Learning Continues
Grade Eight students apply ‘Choreograph’ concepts while programming our Nao Robot. Students had a great opportunity to reinforce concepts learned of linear relations using the NAO Robot. Students had to determine the slope of a line that a soccer ball travels to enable the NAO robot to score a goal. This lesson consolidated skills on the slope of a line with two points. Students had a lot of fun programming the NAO robot.
In February, UMS hosted our annual Public Speaking Festival for the Grade Four to Eight students. We were pleased to congratulate our top competitors and enjoyed listening to a wide array of entertaining and thought-provoking speech topics. Congratulations!
In Grade Three, students have been building on their writing skills! They have learned about writing with voice. Students could use any voice they wanted to describe a piece of cake; some were funny, some were serious, some loved cake, some disliked it, but all were very interesting and creative – Yum! Also in Grade Three, students were learning about different legendary characters. Students could choose any legendary character they wanted to and created a video game based on them. Students chose a variety of game styles; puzzles, sports, action, and adventure.
