Several students from Grade Seven and Grade Eight attended this year’s extra-curricular trip to France in April. The itinerary in Paris included: Paris City Hall, Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral, Louvre Museum, and the Quartier Latin, a cruise on the Seine River, the Eiffel Tower and a visit to Sacre-Coeur Basilica and Place du Tertre. It was from Sacre-Coeur that our students witnessed the tremendous fire of Notre Dame. The tour continued to visit Chartres cathedral and some of the Loire Valley castles, a dinner at a man-made cave and everybody enjoyed having some escargots! Next, the trip continued towards Bretagne and Normandy and Mont Saint Michel, Omaha, Juno Beaches, as well as the Allies’ WWIIMemorial were visited. For the last full day in France, the Rouen City in Nor-mandy was explored as well as the city of Jeanne d’Arc, the Palace of Versailles and then a return back to Paris to have dinner on Les Grands Boulevards. A truly memorable trip was had by all.
